“Welcome be ye that are here, welcome all, and make good cheer.” So goes “Welcome Yule,” an anonymous 15th-century text set by English composer Hubert Parry and the inspiration for our holiday concert series. Expect songs both old and new that celebrate this season of light and the coming of the New Year, including works by Ola Gjeilo, Arvo Pärt, Giovanni Gabrieli, Libby Larsen and Joshua Shank.
