For this year’s CAE POPS! concerts, we look forward to presenting some of the best-known folk songs, hymns and spiritual songs spanning hundreds of years.
Musical selections will include, among others, Aaron Copland’s “Old American Songs,” stunning arrangements of Stephen Foster’s “Hard Times,” “Poor Wayfaring Stranger,” the hymns, “It is Well” and “Nearer My God to Thee,” and the music of Moses Hogan, including “Spiritual Reflection,” which Hogan wrote specifically for the Choral Arts Ensemble in 2000.
