We conclude our season at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with Northwest Voices. In our continued mission to give voice to local and regional composers, we once again partner with Cascadia Composers. These concerts will showcase works by local and regional artists, including Northwest native Morten Lauridsen’s complete Madrigali: Six ‘Fire Songs’ on Italian Renaissance Poems and a new work by Portland’s own Sydney Guillaume. We hope you will join us for a wine-tasting fundraiser on the St. Philip Neri campus after the Saturday evening concert.

Tickets Available At the Door!

program notes

This season’s final concerts highlight the work of composers with special ties to the Pacific Northwest. Some were born and grew up here, while others settled here after living in other states or countries. Several responded to an invitation for submissions with our long-time collaborator, Cascadia Composers, the largest regional chapter of the National Association of Composers USA; founded in 2008, it offers resources, including frequent performances, to showcase the creative gifts of contemporary composers in our region. All these composers have contributed to the musical riches we enjoy here.
