We had such a fantastic time making The Music of Stillness that we just couldn’t help ourselves and recorded another one.
Our final concert for the 2019-2020 season, scheduled for April 2020, would have featured one of the great choral masterworks: Rachmaninoff’s All Night Vigil. The concert was postponed, and we intend it to be our first live concert once we can gather again. Therefore, we wanted to whet your appetite by sharing a gem from this fantastic and oft-sung work. Bogoroditse Devo is a standard movement in the Eastern Orthodox liturgical service. It loosely translates to the perhaps more familiar “Ave Maria”, regularly heard in choral music in the Western Hemisphere.
Please Make a Year-End Gift
As we close out the 2020 year, we ask that you consider making a charitable donation to the Choral Arts Ensemble. Your gift ensures that we will be ready to bring you beautiful live music when we can all gather again, and continue to send a few more of these videos while we wait. We treasure your support, miss performing for you live, and look forward to what 2021 will bring to us all.
